A mammoth fall from grace with regard to the ratings at CNN, put the liberal news network in 12th place in the latest round of Nielsen ratings after having been placed 13th in the previous publication. This dramatic fall from their usual number two spot comes after many scandalous revelations about the programming, revelations that were exposed in more ways than one. Effectively calling into question their credibility.
Project Veritas was able to capture Van Jones on camera stating the network believed the Russian conspiracy theory they were covering for the past eight months was a “nothing burger.” CNN producer John Bonifeld elaborated more in another video in which he indicated the Russia narrative is “mostly bullsh*t right now.” Bonifeld continued about how there are no ethics involved in their business and ratings were the only driving force behind their desire to cover such a conspiracy. Bonifeld also stated the following, “I haven’t seen any good enough evidence to show that the President committed a crime.” Bonifeld goes onto state, “I just feel like they don’t have it but they want to keep digging. And so I think the President is probably right to say, like, look you are witch hunting me, you have no smoking gun, you have no real proof.”
CNN’s subsequent actions would confirm the claims made by Bonifeld in the Project Veritas video as three members of their investigative unit had to tender their resignations as a result of publishing a story pulled out of thin air in which nothing could be verified or corroborated. The story made it all the way up the chain of command and ultimately published, even though their legal team was throwing out numerous red flags as reports indicate. CNN’s actions indicate their intentions; since they could not find a smoking gun, they will make one up. It appears at CNN, they are willing to sacrifice credibility for ratings, ratings that dwindled away with their journalistic integrity.
