CIA Director Mike Pompeo took an opportunity at a question-and-answer session at the Aspen Security Forum to address a major security issue perpetrated by none other than the New York Times. According to Fox News, The Times stated they named the operatives in a June 2 story since they were previously named in other news reports as well as declaring the operative in question was “leading an important new administration initiative against Iran.”

The response from the Times is rather alarming with regard to why they outed these covert agents. If the covert agents were “leading an important new administrative initiative against Iran” as the times stated, most believe that is precisely the reason why a publication should withhold releasing the names.

CIA Director Mike Pompeo was roundly applauded by the crowd as he laid into the New York Times calling their actions “unconscionable.”
