New revelations in the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal that pertain to how former FBI Director James Comey handled the case, have many in Washington calling for him to make a return in order to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, yet again. Senator Lindsay Graham(R-SC) was very blunt in his public appearance in which he stated, “this doesn’t add up, and I smell a rat here.” One can assume the Senator was referring to James Comey as the “rat” after finding out the former Director may have very well perjured himself in his previous appearances.
Sources within the FBI notified both Senator Lindsay Graham(R-SC) and Chuck Grassley(R-IA) that former Director Comey was drafting a letter clearing Hillary Clinton of any wrong doing. The problem with the drafting of this letter is the timing. The letter was being drafted before the FBI had interviewed Hillary Clinton and 17 other witnesses, which ultimately gives the appearance the former director reached a conclusion before completing the investigation. James Comey testified before the House Judiciary Committee in September of 2016 in that he stated “the decision was made after that because I didn’t know what was going to happen in that interview.” The letter Comey was drafting himself is not only a clear-cut contradiction of his sworn testimony but also a clear violation of FBI protocol.
It is unclear at this point whether or not former FBI Director James Comey will return on his own accord or if a subpoena will be issued in order to secure his attendance.
