As investigative reporter Brian Ross further discredited ABC with his overzealous and fictitious coverage of the Michael Flynn plea bargain, much of the country shrugged it off as an expected and justified move by the Mueller team. While Brian Ross appeared on World News Tonight to walk his initial story back to reality, those whom still hold a firm grasp on reality knew the Flynn announcement was coming some time ago. Brian Ross is the same ABC reporter who made headlines after being caught fabricating a story regarding the mass-shooting that took place in Aurora, Colorado in 2012. Ross claimed the shooter was a member of the Tea Party, which was found to be completely false.
On Friday morning, Retired General Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI. This is the exact reason Flynn was fired from the Trump Administration, those who have been following the White House since the election already knew that. ABC’s inept attempt at spinning Flynn’s plea bargain into an indictment on the President may actually earn them a nomination for the fake news trophy the President tweeted about earlier this week, but it will not change reality.
The Flynn plea bargain, as outlined in court documents, completely undercuts the argument for collusion in the first place. The conversations Flynn lied about took place in December of 2016, almost a full month after the election. Court document also show the conversations General Flynn had with Russian Ambassador Kislyak were completely legal and routine. It is common for an incoming President to begin making contacts with foreign governments following a Presidential election. President Obama made similar arrangements after his victory over Senator John McCain (R-AZ) in 2008.
President Trump issued a statement acknowledging Flynn’s transgressions which fall in-line with the actions taken by the special counsel:
“I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!”
At the current time, there is still no evidence what-so-ever to suggest any collusion with the Russian government on behalf of the Trump campaign. Flynn’s guilty plea was expected and justified. The left-stream media will continue to present the plea bargain as an indication of collusion as they attempt to inject their own desires into the public discourse.
Overreactions when news breaks will always make people appear foolish, look at Joy Bahar. She immediately celebrated the Brian Ross story on the View and now she looks like a moron after Ross walked it back later that same day. We shouldn’t hold our breathe for Joy Bahar to issue any retraction either, that would take require respect and humility; two characteristics that Bahar has never embodied.
New Developments: At the time this piece was being posted, ABC announced they will be suspending Brian Ross for inaccurate reporting as it pertained to his errors in the Michael Flynn’s plea bargain.
